Why London is Calling You
When I was a sophomore in college, I studied abroad in Rome, Italy during my Fall semester. I must have folded thousands of t-shirts at the mall the summer prior to save enough “fun money” for the semester’s shenanigans. Something urged me to go to London for Thanksgiving week with another student in my abroad program, from another school <gasp!>. But it ended up being so much fun and quite an eye-opening experience.
I stayed in a low-budget hostel and poured my t-shirt-folding money into experiencing all of London. Double decker buses (don’t judge), fish and chips (no really, don’t judge), theatre, art, pubs, culture, and night life (in college, simply called “life”).
It was an energy I’d never experienced. You could just breathe it in. The weather was remarkably cold for someone from Michigan, but ahhh to be young and in London.
